life size maps are great. the show at the book store last night ruled. i like booking bands from new york. the show in our living room on friday night ruled too. bunny’s a swine are great. i like booking bands from northampton. want to move to new york and northampton. starting a show-booking collective was a good idea. ‘dreamhouse weekend’ was a good idea too. excited for tonight. psyched for ladyfest next weekend. 2012. 2012. is it sxsw yet.
Hey you guys, this is how I am going to be booking shows in Boston now: with the ‘Dreamhouse collective’ instead by myself. The collective is distinctly not-for-profit and there will be regular shows at Great Scott + Lorem Ipsum + a bunch of other spots. We’re ~kicking off~ this new collective show-booking effort with three shows next weekend: Saturday @ Dreamhaus (my living room) w/ Bunny’s a Swine + Dinners; Sunday @ Lorem Ipsum w/ Fedavees and Life Size Maps; Monday @ Great Scott w/ the Craters, Slothbear, Speedy Ortiz, + King Cop. They’re all going to be rad - come hang!
Flyer by Peter Loftus + Hanna Negami.
I’m DJing at O’Brien’s. Earthquake Party, the Fagettes, and the New Highway Hymnal are playing. Details here & here. All of these bands rule so it should be really fun. I’m guessing it will be pretty laid back since the capacity at O’Brien’s is sort of small. I’m also guessing that it will probably sell out since the capacity at O’Brien’s is sort of small, so grabbing a ticket in advance might be a good idea.
This is going to be my first New Year’s Eve spent outside of New York, which feels weird and less exciting, but also way less stressful than NYE in NY. Definitely a little bit jealous of anyone who gets to see that stacked rager at 285kent though. Wish I could be in two places at once, as always. <|3
~My weekend in Instagram-ed show pix~ I keep saying this on Twitter, but for real, the vibes are so high in Boston right now. This weekend ruled, especially Friday night’s show at Lorem Ipsum Books w/ Mutual Benefit and Birthdays and Hear Hums and Many Peoples Band. I love that place and am glad that they finally collabed with the Boston FMLY folks. Every time I am there half of the conversations I have with people are about how the vibes at Lorem Ipsum are so great and how it is a really important spot for Boston right now. (<3s.) Saturday night I saw Earthquake Party’s cassette release show at Great Scott and they sounded sweet and tonight I was there again for a show I booked which was **so fun.** Fat History Month and La Big Vic and Friends and Ganglians were all incredible and everyone danced a lot and enough people came that I could pay all the bands and it was generally just one of the smoothest/least stressful shows I’ve put on, ever.
So psyched on *this show* I am putting on @ Great Scott next Sunday with Friends, Ganglians, La Big Vic, and Fat History Month. Thank you Hanna+Peter for the sweetest flyer!
November 20 @ Great Scott

Plus Happy Jawbone Family Band!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve been wanting to see them for about a year. Psyched.
Hey friends in NY. Jenn and I are DJing at this on Friday? So psyched. It is the best line-up (La Big Vic, Quilt, Total Slacker, etc.) and I was already planning to be in NY for Phoenix-related stuff on Friday/Saturday. Totally rules.
I’ve also never been to Monster Island Basement, and always regretted not catching a show there, and though it’s a bummer that this is the last one, I am glad I’ll get to experience the place at least once before it’s over.
